All-Inclusive Entertainment The Cinema Series 62HM95 HDTV combines a wealth of technology for a truly integrated experience. This DLP projection television is fully Digital Cable Ready. You can receive digital cable stations without a cable box by contacting your cable provider, ordering a CableCARD, and then inserting the card into the CableCARD slot on your television. CableCARDs can be easily changed, allowing this television to be used with virtually any cable company. Also featured is TV Guide On Screen. It combines programming from each of the television's internal tuners (ATSC & QAM) into one, easy-to-read on-screen program guide. TV Guide On Screen makes it quick and easy for you to locate desired programs, and is a crucial feature for ease of use with digital cable. Simple, one-touch recording of programs, including those in HDTV, is also possible when connected to Toshiba's new SYMBIO A/V Hard Drive Recorder (sold separately -- see Accessories). The TheaterNet Control System simplifies the control of external components through both IEEE1394 ports and IR jacks. These same IEEE1394 ports are used to transmit digital video and audio and allow for recording of HDTV. Easy-to-read icon menus and on-screen graphic prompts make this a real user-friendly feature. This 62-inch HD monitor delivers superb images through advanced technology, and does it elegantly with simple operation and many convenient features. Toshiba's new Digital Light Processing (DLP) televisions utilize Texas Instrument's DLP marvel--the HD2+ chip. The HD2+ enables a much higher contrast ratio along with a more consistent picture than other DLP chips due to filled-in mirror "vias" in the center of each pixel. Combining the HD2+ with exclusive optimized optics and Toshiba Advanced Light Engine (TALEN) design, Toshiba takes DLP picture performance to new heights. The 62HM95 also features an HDMI input, which enables all-digital rendering of video without the losses associated with an analog interface. HDMI supports up to 24-bit digital RGB data per pixel for the highest image quality. There are eight key PixelPure components: 6.2 Million Pixel Over Sampling for higher perceived resolution with decreased image distortion; Real Speed Progressive Scanning, which uses additional sampling points to create smoother diagonal lines; Magic Square Algorithm for smooth and natural color gradation; Dynamic Contrast Enhancer for higher perceived contrast and increased color saturation and purity; Super Real Transient and Small Signal Sharpness for sharp transitions from dark to bright; Color Transient Improver for sharp transitions on color changes without bleeding; and Color Detail Enhancer to maintain fine image detail in color saturated areas. Basically, PixelPure is something that you won't even realize is there, but you'll certainly be happy that it is.
