You can receive digital cable stations without a cable box by contacting your cable provider, ordering a CableCARD, and then inserting the card into the CableCARD slot on your television. CableCARDs can be easily changed, allowing this television to be used with virtually any cable company. Also featured is TV Guide On Screen. It combines programming from each of the television's internal tuners (ATSC & QAM) into one, easy-to-read on-screen program guide. Toshiba's new Digital Light Processing (DLP) televisions utilize Texas Instrument's DLP marvel--the HD2+ chip. The HD2+ enables a much higher contrast ratio along with a more consistent picture than other DLP chips due to filled-in mirror "vias" in the center of each pixel.
