Data Express is a product line of drive carriers and receiving frames which are compatible with SCSI or IDE drive types and system interfaces. These modular subsystems house 3.5 inch standard or low-profile hard disk drives or front-loading tape, floppy, floptical, or optical devices for mounting into any 5.25 inch full or half-height storage drive bay. The Data Express line consists of six separate model families: the Data Express DE75, DE90, DE100, DE150, DE200, and the DE300. In operation, the Data Express receiving frame defines the specific address of the drive. Since the Data Express drive-based carrier does not identify the drive address nor provide termination (the drive assumes the identity and characteristics of the receiving frame), drives within a family type may be interchanged indiscriminately. Data Express modules are ruggedly constructed and designed to protect today's high performance drives. Drive carrier key lock and drive activity indicator light are standard features, and some family models also provide an ID select indicator and options for an enhanced, bus-isolating hot swap capability and/or a factory-installed solenoid drive lock. As additional options to Data Express products, StorCase offers water-tight drive carrying cases, drive carrier top cover plates, and blank drive plugs.The Data Express DE75 is a steel constructed drive carrier and receiving frame for internally mounting a low-profile (up to 1 inch high), 3.5 inch form factor SCSI or IDE drive into any standard or undersized half-height, 5.25 inch peripheral bay. The DE75 is available in versions that support SCSI Wide Ultra160, Wide Ultra2, Wide Ultra, Narrow, and IDE (including ATA/66) and also supports 80-pin single-connect (SCA) SCSI type drives. The Data Express® DE200 is a steel-constructed, removable and hot swappable drive enclosure for mounting 3.5 inch form factor, half-height or low-profile (up to 1-inch high) SCSI drives into 5.25 inch half-height peripheral bays. The DE200 was designed especially for high shock and vibration environments, providing a lock-down device carrier and feature non-PVC materials. The DE200 is available with either 8-bit or 16-bit single-ended SCSI connections, including versions that support SCSI Wide Ultra160 implementations. Some DE200 carrier model versions support 80-pin single-connect (SCA) 16-bit drive types. Options are also available for an enhanced, bus-isolating hot swap feature and/or a solenoid drive lock.
