The spaghetti western and its Eastern equivalent, the samurai film, are simultaneously spoofed in the bizarre Italian comedy SAMURAI (also known as THE WHITE, THE YELLOW AND THE BLACK). Eli Wallach plays Black Jack Gideon, a town sheriff who gets entangled with the notorious bandit known as Swiss, as well as a deadly samurai. The trio search the prairies and plateaus of the west for a Japanese pony being held hostage by a band of army deserters dressed as Indians.
